Bato Kannon is an ancient Buddhist diety as well as the earliest good luck charm for horse racing.  He is known for being a protector of the animals, especially cattle and horses.  In early centuries, people would pray to Bato Kannon for good luck at the races.  Maybe he will bring you good luck too!
