ABOUT THE ARTIST

Travel. Horse Racing. Crypto.

Alexa Zepp was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Kansas to pursue a college degree at the University of Kansas.  She graduated in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art and a Minor in both Latin American Studies and Art History. Her works have been exhibited in many group shows, including the annual KU Scholarship Show, KU LibART exhibition, KU International Festival and at Nunemaker Center.  Her work has also been displayed in multiple solo exhibitions in Kansas.  Alexa has received numerous awards, including the Beatrice L. Bonine Painting Scholarship, Letha Churchill Walker Art Scholarship, Daniel MacMorris Art Scholarship and Doris Carey Art Scholarship.

Throughout her college experience she discovered her love of culture and language. Her linguistic repertoire includes English, Spanish, and the indigenous language Miskitu, which has allowed her to spend long periods of time in Central and South America.  She had the incredibly unique opportunity of living with an indigenous group - the Miskitu Indians- for a summer.  A lot of her work addresses the beauty and complexity of this foreign tradition.  Her other work focuses on the beauty of the nature she encountered abroad.

In 2017, Alexa was introduced to horse racing.  She quickly fell in love with the sport and has become a competitive horse player online as well as at on-track tournaments.  Many of her works focus on the world of horse racing, and more specifically, horse handicapping.

In 2020 Alexa began exploring digital art. Since then she has become very active in the metaverse as an NFT creator. She has also worked collaboratively alongside Ternoa, Tiime Engine and Interstellar Alliance for Star Atlas on a number of well known NFT projects.
